Here’s more information about the how the $70 million will be utilized. The recovery fund has $70 million in funds for 7000 those who already have a business located in Virginia. This list will be selected from a pool of small business applicants who already own a business that has been impacted by the pandemic, and consequently has had their revenue cut.

If you are a business owner, who has had their regular business operation disrupted, or for any individual who owns or runs a nonprofits that has the capacity in terms of staffing, business resources and the ability to have the grants of up to $10,000 sent to them to help mitigate against their situation.

1. Grants to Virginia Small Businesses

Grants for Virginia based businesses and organizations can access and address that are accessible programs in Fairfox County. Fairfax County and other sorrounding areas.

The grant program also establishes a minimum allocation of 30% of total funding towards awards for women-owned, minority-owned, and/or veteran-owned businesses. It is funded through an allocation of the Coronavirus Relief Funds provided through the federal CARES Act.

Funds are meant to reimburse businesses and non-profits for the costs of business interruption caused by required closures.   The grant can be used for:  

  • Employee compensation (including wages and benefits)  
  • Working capital  
  • Equipment Inventory  
  • Rent  
  • Other business-critical operating expenses
  • Grantees will be required to enter into a grant agreement with Fairfax County prior to receipt of funds.
